As you well know already, in 2021 the partner-cities Volgograd and Cologne are making a joint project called "Nostalgia Tourist". Today, the tour guide waxing poetic about the pre-pandemic sights in her native town is Diana Fomina, a third-year student of Volgograd Institute of Management – RANEPA branch majoring in "Economic Security".

Volgograd and Cologne through the eyes of youth: a new project by the partner-cities

After a long break, the year 2020/21 has once again been designated as the Year of Germany in Russia – an especially promising initiative for Volgograd, which has not one, but two partner-cities in the FRG: Chemnitz and Cologne. With the first of them, it is on the level of school exchanges that the most active cooperation is done. In the Cologne case, though, it is college and university students who take the lead. Most fittingly, they will become key participants of the new online project dedicated to the two partner-cities – slightly less lively (due to the pandemic), but just as lovely as ever.

What to do in March and April? A few ideas from the US and Russian cities

On the 9^th of March, yet another and already traditional monthly round table was held – dedicated to the Russia-US cooperation and organized by the Sister Cities International. Its participants were treated to two new presentations about the best collaboration practices, a report on the preparation of the Forum of University Presidents and several suggestions about new projects, among which there were the first steps towards the long-awaited "Great Rivers" Project.
