The first capital of united Italy invites you to discover through different images its past and modern history, in a perfect balance between the rigor of Roman urbanism, the splendor of the Piedmontese baroque and the originality of contemporary architecture.
This is Torino, an unexpected city!
Let us be reminded that the relations between Torino and Volgograd originate from the common historical events linked to the resistance of both cities to the Nazi military forces' occupation during the Second World War. Since the 1960s, the two cities have developed joint exchanges and initiatives, officially formalized with the signing of a Collaboration Agreement in 2011.
In 2019, among the initiatives carried out by the two cities, was the photo-documentary exhibition "Stalingrad. A call for Peace" held to remember the 75th anniversary of the Soviet soldiers' victory over the Nazi forces in the Battle of Stalingrad. The exhibition was set up at the Villa Amoretti Civic Library and at the Central Civic Library of Torino.
