School students from Jilin are inviting you to their city – online
Hardly had come to an end the "Nostalgia Tourist" project between Volgograd and Cologne that another Volgograd's twin-city is ready to take the floor: Jilin from the People's Republic of China. The new series of videos on our website will be created by its school children.
"Russia and China: looking into the future together!" this is the motto that has been uniting Volgograd School No. 54 of the Soviet District and Jilin Middle School No. 2.
In July 2019, a delegation of School No. 54 paid its first visit to Volgograd's oriental twin-city, followed in two months' time by a return visit from the Chinese pupils… who returned home already with an Agreement on cooperation and cultural exchange signed for the period of 5 years. The two schools have already cemented their friendly relations with many concrete projects: a joint children drawing exhibition dedicated to Russian and Chinese festivals, an ecological flash mob on the banks of the Volga and the Sungari Rivers, and, of course, a continuous visiting exchange!
The story of how this cooperation started and came to life has been told in the first video that the teachers and students of School No. 54 are presenting to you today.

Even if the pandemic has force d us to make a break in the series of mutual exchanges – now, every PC or smartphone screen will become an open window into the Chinese twin-city.
