Best wishes from the Philippines: Volgograd students are taking part in a youth conference

On September 18, 2022, the International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future took off, which is taking place online for the third year in a row.

This time, its organizers are the City of Muntinlupa, a town not far from the capital of the Philippines. Both Volgograd and Muntinlupa are regular participants of the aforementioned youth conference, and in 2021, they met at several international events in succession.

Last August, students from Muntinlupa participated in a conference held by Volgograd via Zoom. And at the end of last October, the coordinator of youth educational programs in Muntinlupa Department of Education, Ms. Mariel Luna, made a presentation at the International Forum of People's Diplomacy "Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the 21st Century". It was she who sent the invitation to Volgograd youths, whose enthusiasm and responsibility she remembered well from last year.

Muntinlupa's Department of Education rightly believes that peace can be strengthened most efficiently by the people working together on something important and global, so the theme of the event was formulated in the phrase "We are building a culture of peace by reaching sustainable development goals, empowering young people, and expanding their opportunities."

Five student leaders of Volgograd State Medical University are participating in the conference. At the opening ceremony, they presented a wonderful video about Volgograd recorded by foreign students and narrated in Russian.

The second IYCPF session, on September 25, was dedicated to the topic "Building a culture of peace through learning".

"We enjoyed the first days of the conference, I think that the next ones will be even better and more interesting," says the coordinator of Volgograd participants, Ms. Goar Avetisyan.
