Chengdu and Volgograd: Nostalgia Tourist. River watching Pavilion

This September, Volgograd and Chengdu students have prepared a whole series of colorful and informative videos about the iconic statues, buildings and little-known sites of Volgograd and Chengdu. Xie Junhao from Chengdu is inviting everyone on a tour through the Bamboo Park to the exquisite River watching Pavilion.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, please.

– Hello, everyone! I'm Xie Junhao. I'm from Yucai Middle School Attached to Chengdu No.7 High School, Xuedao Campus.

Why did you choose this particular spot for the video?

– I chose River-watching Pavilion because it is a landmark building of Chengdu, one of the well-renowned historical and cultural cities in China. River-watching Pavilion is adjacent to Jinjiang River, which gives people the feeling of nostalgia and quiet. It is also a bamboo theme park in China featuring the earliest collection of bamboo, the longest history of bamboo cultivation, and the richest varieties of bamboo.

If you found yourself in Volgograd for a whole day, what would you like to see and do?

– If I could spend a day in Volgograd, I will go to the Volgograd History Museum first. Because in the museum I can understand the history and culture of this heroic city. Then I will go to the Heroes Square to see the world's largest statue of a woman. She holds a sword and guides the brave anti-fascist soldiers to fight the enemy. It can make every tourist here full of patriotism.

I'm looking forward to this day as soon as possible, so that I can know more about our sister city — Volgograd. I believe I will fall in love with this heroic city.

Finally, let's work together to make our friendship everlasting!
