International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future 2021 has finished its work
August 15 saw the closing ceremony of the International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future: two weeks of active work, during which students from Russia, Japan, China, Philippines, Thailand, Iran and Germany had been meeting experts, doing creative tasks and preparing a Concert of national cultures.
This work received numerous praises and words of gratitude from the IYCPF chairs: Chair of Volgograd City Council Mr. Vladlen Kolesnikov and Chair of Hiroshima International Youth Friendship Association Dr. Koki Inai.
The result of these two weeks of cooperation was the development of youth communiques by the IYCPF's 5 teams – and projects of peace promotion flash mobs to be realized after the event!
The @CatalystsForPeace1 team is offering you to choose from 2 flash mobs. Join into the "A Symbol of Peace" action by putting the hashtags #asymbolofpeace and #peaceforme under a photo or a picture that embodies the notion of peace to you – and caption them by writing why you chose these images.
Or take part in the "Pass the Crane" challenge: film yourself "catching" a paper crane falling from the sky and then "pass" it in the similar manner towards the bottom frame. Hashtag it with #PasstheCraneChallenge and watch how many countries "your" paper crane will visit!
The @PeaceAndFriendship team, too, is suggesting that we think about what the notion of "peace" means to us – while simultaneously demonstrating our artistic abilities. Draw a picture or write a poem and publish it on Instagram with the hashtags #MyKindOfPeace and #PeacefulWorld.
The @iycpf2021_GreatMates team is inviting to their flash mob both authors and translators. Choose your favorite poem about peace and translate in into English. Your works are welcome on Instagram – with the hashtag #poemforpeace
Join us in creating the largest online poetry collection!
Another flash mob, that has been spreading all over Instagram for over a week, is the "Peace Crane" supported by the @PieceofPeace2021 team and inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki – the girl who died of A-bomb induced leukemia while struggling to fold a thousand paper cranes and make a wish to heal herself – and the world. The photos of paper cranes against the background of notable city landmarks are being posted by young people in Volgograd, Chengdu, Tehran and Elista. Join them at the hashtag #peacecrane
The @PeaceEducationMovers team, too, has got big plans. Its members are inviting you to take part in the weekly Q&A event, demonstrate your talents in various fields, and post a photo of a paper crane captioned with your answer to the questions "What is Peace for me? What can I do for peace? Who am I to this world?"
This year's International Youth Conference is over, but communication in the spirit of peace will go on and on.
