A youth center in Novosibirsk made a video about the 80th anniversary of the Stalingrad victory
Out of 20 Siberian divisions that were defended our city in 1942-1943, five were formed in the city of Novosibirsk, and 200 thousand Siberian soldiers sacrificed their lives in the Battle of Stalingrad. To honor the memory of their heroic compatriots and Stalingrad defenders in general, the media professionals of the "Тымолод.рф" youth information portal compiled a video dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet troops over the Nazi troops in the Battle of Stalingrad.
As we remember, on February 1 and 2, more than 200 festive events dedicated to this meaningful date took place in Volgograd, including the parade on the Square of the Fallen Fighters, the presentation of the "Memory Bridge" multimedia project, reenactments of the Battle's most memorial events, and musical performances evenly spread over all the city districts.
During the same days, Novosibirsk, too, hosted a number of meaningful events. On February 1, 2023, at 18:00, the city residents gathered at the Monument of Glory to the Siberian Warriors to light candles in memory of the Siberians who fought in Stalingrad.
On February 2, 2023, dozens of the city residents, including the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region and the Mayor of Novosibirsk solemnly laid flowers and wreaths at the Eternal Flame at the same memorial.
It should be noted that keeping the Watch of Memory at the Eternal Flame at the Monument of Glory to the Siberian Warriors is the main activity of Novosibirsk Center for Heroic and Patriotic Education – and that the delegation of its cadets took an active part in the commemorative events in Volgograd.
