Exhibition of drawings by Russian, Kazakh and Chinese children opened in Volgograd

On September 22, Volgograd Regional Children Art Gallery held the grand opening of the exhibition which outlined the results of the competition "About Myself and the World: the Building of Humanity."

The ceremony's guest of honor was the "Rodnye Napevy" exemplary children's ensemble that graciously performed several Russian folk songs.

This time the biennial international competition was dedicated to the iconic architectural sights of the participating cities, o their creators (architects and construction workers), and the young participants' fantasies about how their cities could look like in the future.

Over 500 works had been submitted to the competition by art schools in China, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The paintings whose authors had been awarded prizes and honorary diplomas will be presented in the exhibition hall of the Children's Art Gallery until October 31.

It should be noted that the Chinese sister-cities of Volgograd, in particular, have not missed a single Gallery's project over the last several years, and their young artists are among the competitions most enthusiastic and talented participants. For example, in Chengdu alone, about 600 works have been collected for the city's internal selection for the "About Myself and about the World" competition, of which only 53 ended up being sent to Volgograd.
