International Forum of People's Diplomacy "Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the 21st Century" sums up its results
On October 30 – November 1, Volgograd hosted an International Forum of People's Diplomacy "Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the 21st Century", which united in its platform the experts from 20 countries.
As attested by the views, only in the opening events of the Forum: its opening ceremony and the plenary session – attracted online and offline over 7 thousand people, about 2 thousand from Russia, and the rest – from abroad, including such countries as France, Italy, Great Britain, Serbia, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Iran, Turkey and Israel.
On October 30, Volgograd administration hosted on its platform a series of round tables. The first of them – "Russia and China: new trends and opportunities for the interaction between municipalities" – was co-organized by the City of Volgograd and the Union of Russian Cities, as well as supported by the Chinese International Friendship Cities Association. The second round table "International cooperation among municipalities: new challenges and perspectives" featured among its experts representatives of the Eurasia section of the "United Cities and Local Governments" World Organization. Another meeting, co-organized by the German-Russian Forum, was dedicated to the "Russia and Germany: the present and the future of bilateral partnership". The day's program concluded with the round table "Promoting internal tourism on the Volga and Mississippi Rivers during the COVID-19: the experience of city governments", co-organized by the Association of Volga Region Cities (Russia) and Sister Cities International (USA).
On October 31, the conference hall of Volgograd administration hosted two panel discussions "Cities for peace and mutual understanding" and "Cities as peace messengers". During them, the experts presented their opinion on the moderator's questions rather than pre-written reports with presentations.
On November 1, the Forum continued its work with the round table "Children Diplomacy. New Vision" organized by the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization for the holistic development of children and young adults "Eurasian Kids Society".
