Volgograd and Chengdu: Nostalgia Tourist. “Russia is My History”, lotus lake and Mamay Hill

This September, Volgograd and Chengdu students have prepared a whole series of colorful and informative videos about the iconic and little-known statues, buildings and touristic sites of their cities.

Today we offer for your attention a video by a whole cinematic team of Maria Fomenko, Ekaterina Yastrebova, Ilya Slugin, Lolita Budagyan, Margarita Scherbakova, and Ivan Matokhin. Together they will tell you about three most interesting places in Volgograd.

And Maria and Ekaterina have further agreed to answer our questions!

Tell us a little bit about yourselves, please.

- My name is Maria Fomenko, I am 15 years old. In my free time, I like playing music, studying physics and English. Together with my friend Ekaterina Yastrebova, we often make videos for our school.

Why did you choose these particular places for the video?

- We chose these specific curiosities for our video, because we believe them to be the most interesting, beautiful and informative.

If you found yourself in Chengdu for a whole day, what would you like to see and do?

- If I had one day to spend in Chengdu, I would like to visit as many historic places as possible and learn the fascinating stories behind them.

- If I had a day to myself in Chengdu, I would take a walk through the whole city and see as many interesting places as possible.
