Volgograd and Chengdu: Nostalgia Tourist. Agniya Barto's Hare

This September, Volgograd and Chengdu students have prepared a whole series of colorful and informative videos about the iconic and little-known statues, buildings and touristic sites of their cities. Today we offer for your attention a video by Elizaveta Vlasova, dedicated to one of the cutest statues in Volgograd.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, please.

My name is Elizaveta Vlasova, and I am 14 years old. I love studying the English language, drawing, playing the flute, and dancing.

Why did you choose this particular place for the video?

I decided to make a video about the statue inspired by the writings of a Soviet poet Agniya Barto, because I still remember by heart her children rhymes that we used to read with my mum when I was little. One of them was about a plush hare left in the rain by his owner, and I still remember how my heart ached for him.

If you found yourself in Chengdu for a whole day, what would you like to see and do?

If I had a day to myself in Chengdu, I would try to visit as many historic places as possible. I would especially like to see the Panda Park and see those fascinating animals. They are very mischievous, although may seem clumsy at the first glance.

Elizaveta's video is waiting for you on YouTube:
