Volgograd and Chengdu: Nostalgia Tourist. The accordion girl
This September, Volgograd and Chengdu students have prepared a whole series of colorful and informative videos about the iconic and little-known statues, buildings and touristic sites of their cities. Today we offer for your attention a video by Zakhar Gordey, a musician and amateur historian.
Tell us a little bit about yourself, please.
My name is Zakhar Gordey, I am studying in the 8th form of Volgograd Gymnasium #3, and my hobbies are connected with the social science – including the English language.
Why did you choose this particular place for the video?
I chose this statue, because, firstly, it's a little-known, but worthy of people's attention. And secondly, I am kind of a musician myself, so I feel great sympathy towards Pakhmutova and see her as a kin spirit.
If you found yourself in Chengdu for a whole day, what would you like to see and do?
If I could visit Chengdu, I would definitely go to its temples or parks, because I am interested in the Orient culture. Maybe, I would also go to a beach or on a walking trip to the outskirts of the city, because I am fascinated by your nature and the surrounding forests.
Zakhar's video is waiting for you on YouTube:
