The Russian-French summer camp "Marathon on the Volga" was organized with support of Volgograd region administration, Volgograd administration and Volgograd State Social and Pedagogical University within the frame of the Russian-French Year of Interregional Cooperation. The project is aimed to expand the cooperation between the youth of the two countries, establish the educational links and become yet another step in the development of people's diplomacy.

Among those who arrived to speak of the development of friendly relations and specific projects between the Volgograd region and French partners were the representatives of structural subdivisions responsible for culture, tourism and external relations.

The majority of the guests are working in studying in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region where our twin-city of Dijon is located, and so the chief attention was paid to the cooperation between sister-cities. Naturally, school and university students are among their most active participants.

Regular exchanges are carried out between Volgograd State Social and Pedagogical University and the Teacher-Training College at the University of Burgundy in Dijon. Twice, Dijon representatives took part in the International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future in Volgograd, and in 2019, as we were reminded by the Head of the International and regional relations office Mr. Sergey Lapshinov, they visited our city within the frame of the "New Generation" program by the Rossotrudnichestvo Federal Agency and took part in the International Forum of People's Diplomacy "Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the XXI century".

As emphasized by the Chair of Volgograd administration's Committee for Youth Policies and Tourism, Mr.Alexander Sinyutin, Volgograd youths are very active and always in for new cooperation projects with their French peers.
