Timed to coincide with the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the Concert celebrated another important victory – that over the coronavirus pandemic, which, hopefully, is gradually receding from the Volgograd region and from the whole world.

The Victory Concert featured fifteen numbers, with more than half provided by Volgograd ensembles of song, dance, folk and classical music, thus bringing together both professional artists and music schools students.

The twin and partners-cities of Volgograd that joined their Russian counterparts were Chengdu and Qujing (China) and Cologne (Germany).

The Children and Student Choirs of Chengdu sang "When the spring breeze knocks at the door" (a song written in the midst of a pandemic) and "Defend the Yellow River" – according to the authors' idea, the energetic and life-affirming rhythm of the latter is bound to evoke the majestic picture of a guerrilla camp in the middle of a mountain range.

The Qujing Performance Center recorded three vocal and instrumental performances at once – all dedicated to the cultural and national peculiarities of their city, the hospitality of its inhabitants and the beauty of its nature.

The "Brings" Cologne band came up with an invigorating video to their "Polka-polka" song dedicated to international friendship "from the Rhine to the Volga", and performed the composition "Love Will Win", the name of which is self-explanatory.

We would like to thank all the participants who gifted the spectators with songs and dances about spring, hope, labor and unity, symbolizing the victory of creative forces over war and destruction.
