An exhibition of children drawings from Volgograd’s Chinese twin-cities has opened in the Gorky Library

Since the beginning of February, Volgograd Regional Library named after Maxim Gorky is celebrating the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. In this, it is aided by Volgograd Regional Children Art Gallery and not one but two Chinese cities: Chengdu (Sichuan province) and Qujing (Yunnan province), both of them being Volgograd's twin-cities.

Until the 14th of March, the fourth floor of the Library will host an exhibition of the drawings that the Chinese participants submitted to the international competition "And dear to us remains your noble image" held by the Gallery in 2018.

The exhibition features several portraits of Pushkin made in the most various techniques (including collages and application), as well as the scenes from his fairytales (from the littlest readers), illustrations to his poems and major works, and even calligraphic renditions of the abstracts from them.

During the same period, the Library's visitors can see an exposition of children book illustrations made by professional Chinese artists.
