Turin is a large metropolitan city located in the north-west of Italy.
Within the country, the city is known as the “cradle of freedom” for being the birthplace of several prominent heroes of the national liberations movement. Moreover, after the Unification of Italy in the 19th century, the city would serve as the new country’s capital for several years.
Turin is also known as a native town of the “Juventus” football team and a city-keeper of the Turin Shroud – one of the most famous and revered Christian relics.
The fist contacts between Volgograd and Turin date back to the 1960s. Turin experts have taken part in Volgograd forums, youth representatives – in conferences for peace in the future, and children – in joint drawing competitions.
