Twin-cities
Chengdu is located in the Sichuan province, famous for its giant pandas and hot spicy cuisine. The Agreement of the establishment of friendly relations between Chengdu and Volgograd was signed in 2011 after several years of cooperation.
The cities have been repeatedly holding educational exchanges with their participants practicing Chinese and Russian languages, attending lessons in regular schools and getting to know the culture of each other’s countries.
Artistic and musical groups are exchanging invitations to international festivals. Young artists from Chengdu and Volgograd are readily taking part in joint drawing contests sending their works to each other by post.
