School of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Children and Youth Center

Volgograd is truly THE capital of people's diplomacy. We even have a diplomat-training school for teens!

The School of International Relations and Diplomacy is a comprehensive program of extracurricular education taught at the platform of Volgograd Children and Youth Center since September 2021.

Its attendants are high school students who:

- are interested in history, geography, international relations, and diplomacy;

- want to explore their own culture and the cultures of other nations;

- want to learn how to conduct an effective dialogue, achieve mutual understanding, find common goals, and collaborate to achieve them.

The School offers lectures and discussions, master classes on business skills (e.g., public speaking and negotiation); role-playing games where players act out real historical cases; meetings with experts; and even business trips.

For example, from April 7 to 11, 2025, the School's attendants took part in an educational program at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: they visited Moscow and learned from experienced international affairs experts.

Since 2022, the School's attendants and teachers have been publishing the annual magazine "Attaché" – a guide for young international affairs experts. It presents the most complex topics on global politics, history, and diplomacy in simple and understandable language (sometimes in two languages, like the magazine dedicated to Charles de Gaulle), making it engaging and accessible to both parents and young children.

And you'll be amazed at the level of experts whose interviews are published it!

This week, it won't be the last time we speak about the School and its periodical.
